Practice de Wit

A space voor insight and growth

Welcome at Practice de Wit

A bright living room with a large potted plant, white sofa, and wooden furniture near windows showing green trees outside.

Are you finding yourself caught up in your thoughts, excessively worried about things, or feeling tense?

Are you holding back from showing your true self, fearing rejection, experiencing shame, or having a sense of losing control? Or perhaps you feel stuck in patterns that keep you feeling small.

In my practice, I offer a safe and supportive space for those struggling with anxiety, stress, low self-worth, or difficulty trusting themselves or others. A place for people who long for more calm, connection, and inner freedom.

As a psychosocial therapist, I work in an experiential way, paying attention to both the psychological and existential layers of being human. My approach is inspired by Buddhist wisdom: the belief that our true nature is fundamentally good, open, and free.

You don’t need to be “fixed.” What you need is a space where you can feel, discover, and return home to yourself. That is where true change begins.

Sessions are available in person or online.

What you can expect from my work

A person's outstretched hand reaching towards the bright sunlight with a natural outdoor background.

In my practice, I support people who struggle with:

  • Anxiety and tension-related issues

  • Low self-esteem or feelings of shame

  • Stress, overthinking, or fear of losing control

  • Difficulty trusting themselves or others

  • Feelings of emptiness or disconnection

  • The need to break free from limiting patterns

I also guide people who find themselves asking questions such as:

  • “Who am I, beyond everything I feel I have to be?”

  • “How can I live from my true core?”

  • “How can I find peace in a world full of noise and pressure?”

I offer:

  • An open and attentive space to share and explore

  • Insight into obstacles and patterns, with practical tools for change

  • Guidance rooted in both therapeutic training and Buddhist wisdom

  • Individual sessions, either in person or online

How I work

My way of working is experiential and person-centered. This means that we don’t just talk about what you’re going through—we also create space to feel it, here and now. Only what can be felt, can truly change.

I attune to what you need. In our sessions, we may work with:

  • Awareness of thoughts, emotions, and body signals

  • Exploring patterns and inner beliefs

  • Body-oriented attention and breathing

  • Silence, mindfulness, and self-compassion practices

At the heart of my work is the conviction that your wholeness has never been lost—it may simply be hidden.

My role is not to provide ready-made solutions, but to create a supportive space in which you can begin to trust your own inner wisdom again.

A spiritual foundation

My work is rooted in the understanding that every human being is, at their core, good. That beneath our fears and defenses, we are already whole—though life experiences, pain, or upbringing may have caused us to forget.

I am inspired by Buddhist psychology, which places less emphasis on the “I” and more on the movement toward openness, presence, and connectedness. This approach resonates with people who are not only seeking relief from their struggles, but also a deeper sense of meaning in their lives.

About me

My name is Bram de Wit, and I work as a psychosocial therapist. What drives me is the meeting from person to person. A place where nothing has to be forced, where you don’t need to “be better,” but where you can grow in trust, self-compassion, and inner freedom.

My own journey has been one of searching, doubting, feeling blocked, and gradually opening, letting go, and coming home. I know how it feels to be stuck in your head, to hide behind a mask of functioning and perfection. But I also know how healing it is to be truly seen. It’s from this lived experience that I now work with others.

Alongside my formal therapeutic training, I have walked my own path of therapy and immersed myself in Buddhist psychology, mindfulness, and body-oriented approaches. These form the foundation of my work: the belief that every person carries within them a core of goodness—no matter how distant or damaged it may sometimes feel.

What others say

  • “The sessions with Bram helped me gain deeper insight into patterns and dynamics, especially in intimate relationships. From that awareness, we created a concrete plan grounded in clear values. Looking back, even the first steps have already had a positive impact on my current relationships. Bram asks the right questions and listens with real empathy.”

    Evert-Jan

  • “I had a very meaningful conversation with Bram. He listens with great attention, is patient, and has a gift for bringing clarity. His questions also sparked further self-reflection. Bram, I’d be glad to continue our conversation another time.”

    Jens

  • “I’m very grateful for Bram’s support! He is patient, knows how to guide someone forward, and is a very pleasant conversation partner. I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone who feels stuck and wants to commit to personal growth.”
